Walker Trucking has been cited by Codes for four violations. They built the truck parking lot even though they knew it was not zoned for it. It is in violation of our community subarea plan, Nashville Next and our ongoing effort to keep our community rural.

Walker wants community meeting for rezoning ahead of court hearing over 5000 Ashland City Hwy
In October of last year (2024) Metro Codes had begun enforcement against property owner Jason Walker, of Walker Trucking and Excavating.
There was a court date set for December, 3 2024.
However, that date kept getting delayed because a finalized order could not be agreed upon by Metro representation and Walker.
Since an agreement could not be reached, a hearing is currently scheduled for February 24th, at which point a judge would hear the matter and make a decision on the terms of the order.
BUT:
There is a NEW request to the community from Walker and his attorney to rezone the property. A matter the community met on months ago and answered with a clear NO.
Why it matters & what you can do
The Bells Bend and Scottsboro community know that illegal dumping and code violations run rampant here. While this particular fight is over one property on Ashland City Hwy, its implications are far greater. With each illegal operation that builds first, asks permission to rezone later, we lose a little more of what precious farmland and rural community Nashville has left. And we send a message to developers that they can keep doing it.
