Planning Commissioners,
My name is [YOUR NAME] and I live at [YOUR ADDRESS].
I am emailing in opposition of Case# 2025SP-019-001 (5000 Ashland City Hwy.)
This property has been cited by Codes for four violations and has been the source of community complaints since the summer of 2024. They built a truck parking lot even though the land is zoned AR2. The parking lot has been used for commercial dump trucks, not farming equipment. Furthermore, it is in violation of our community subarea plan, Nashville Next and our ongoing effort to keep our community rural.
I'm concerned that if we allow the rezoning, it will set a precedent for how to develop in District 1, a district that is already subject to developers building first, asking for permission later.
A petition against the rezoning request garnered 400 signatures, both from local community members, as well as visitors from all over the Nashville area who frequent the parks, trails and greenways, support the farms, or simply have an appreciation for the natural beauty the area provides.
Please honor the community's request and do not allow the rezoning of the site. If the rezoning is approved it will become a precedent of how to develop in District 1, opening the door to more projects that are not consistent with zoning, codes and the planning department community plan.
Thank you for your time and consideration,
[YOUR NAME]
